Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These terms set out the rules for using METIMO. Please read them carefully — by using the Service you agree to them.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the METIMO Employee Commute app and website (the "Service"). METIMO is a trading name of Calculate My Product Carbon Footprint Ltd (company number 11820814), registered at 11b Newton Court, Pendeford Business Park, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, WV9 5HB, United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company to these Terms.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly at support@metimo.io if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Carbon calculations
The Service quantifies commuting carbon emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard, Category 7 (Employee Commuting, including home working), and ISO 14064-1, using the distance-based method and the UK Government (DEFRA/DESNZ) GHG conversion factors. Each week and journey leg records the exact factor vintage used, so figures remain reproducible and are structured to support third-party verification under ISO 14064-3.
Because the calculation runs on the details you and your employees provide, the accuracy of every figure depends on the accuracy and completeness of that input. Applied correctly to accurate data, the results are calculated to these standards; they are not, on their own, a certified or independently verified measurement, and we do not issue a verification opinion. You remain responsible for checking the data entered and for verifying any figures relied on for regulatory or formal reporting.
5. Carbon offsets
- Offsets are purchased through the Service and paid via Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and are charged in pounds sterling.
- A certificate is issued once payment succeeds. Because an offset is fulfilled immediately as a digital service, offset purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by law or in the case of a proven error.
- We rely on third-party offset providers and are not liable for their underlying projects beyond arranging the offset you purchased.
6. Business plans
- Business plans are sold to companies on a flat monthly fee based on employee headcount band, as set out on our pricing page.
- Business plans are arranged with our team and billed by agreement (for example by invoice). Fees are exclusive of VAT unless stated.
- Business features such as CSV export and commute-day campaigns are available only while a company's plan is active and in good standing.
- Either party may end a business plan in line with the agreement between us; on termination, access to business features stops.
7. Affiliate links
The Service may show links to low-carbon products through affiliate partners. If you buy through these links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We are not the seller of those products and are not responsible for them.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the Service, attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt it, or use it to break the law.
- Do not submit false data, or data about other people without a lawful basis.
- Do not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and content, is owned by Calculate My Product Carbon Footprint Ltd and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. Your own data remains yours.
10. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we perform maintenance from time to time.
11. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, or data, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or £100.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us or others.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have where you live.
14. Contact
